Dear MN NHL Alumni Members,
I hope all continues to go well for the season! Once again, I have some items to share with you.
The first is a synopsis of the NHL Alumni (NHLA) Annual Meeting. This is the national association headquartered in Toronto which was held just a few weeks ago. Follow this link to the meeting minutes synopsis (there are some issues you might be interested it). Please note that future NHLA annual meetings will coincide with the NHL All-Star game. I will be in attendance and representing the Minnesota chapter at the 2019 meeting in San Jose. If you have any suggestions or communications you’d like me to bring along with me then, please let me know.
Also, looking back a few weeks please be reminded that we are in the early stages of introducing our new Members-Only website-based communication platform. This site is easily accessed by visiting our regular website and clicking on the navigation tab labeled MEMBERS-ONLY. The members-only portal will become a multi-source asset for our group including:
On that topic, it is very important that if you have not completed the "Profile" section we ask you to do so, so that we have a sharable (for members only!) database. If you know other alumni that have not yet registered, please get them started by referring them our way.
Additionally, now that we now have an active focus on communication, fellow alumni member Dave Jensen has stepped forward to lead this area as our VP of Community Relations. Please include Dave in your ideas regarding alumni happenings!
REMINDER: Sunday ice time at Bloomington has been cancelled, but there will be other opportunities to skate. Right now the Wild have scheduled ice time for alumni on Tuesday, November 20 (7:30 p.m, - 8:30 p.m.) and Thursday, November 29 (7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.) at Xcel Energy Center. Access through Gate 1 (the arena’s main entrance). We anticipate other hours will be made available at Xcel or at the new Wild practice facility throughout the year.
Also, as a reminder regarding the alumni room at the X during Wild games. There are a number of developments and discussions from the Wild as to access and guests such as entry door security, membership cards and possibly wrist bands for guests etc. Priorities will be available for members with paid dues. More to come on this.
As always, I invite your comments and ideas.
All the best,
Brad Maxwell, President
